Villa Marie Claire

Comfort. Peace. Love.

Dear Visitors:

The comfort of you and your loved ones is our top priority at Villa Marie Claire and we are working to provide the most elegant residential hospice center in the tri-state area. We are temporarily closed so we can complete substantial interior and exterior renovations to the estate, including constructing a 6,000-sq-ft outside pavilion with a kitchen and fireplace, and a stable and grazing area for therapy horses.

We want you to know that the Villa Marie Claire clinical team is offering inpatient hospice service on a dedicated unit at Holy Name Medical Center. Please call 551-248-4800 or email vmcinfo@holyname.org for more information.

We look forward to you visiting Villa Marie Claire – be sure to check back here for our re-opening date.

Welcome to Villa Marie Claire

As long as there is life, there is hope. Hope means different things to different people, but it can readily replace despair. We are all on a journey, and wherever an individual is in that experience, dignity and comfort can be found.

At Villa Marie Claire, which is owned by Holy Name Medical Center, patients with advanced illnesses are relieved of burdensome symptoms and given the opportunity to spend quality time with loved ones. Villa Marie Claire combines the ambiance of a home-like environment with the peace of mind of a specialized, around-the-clock care team.

Nestled on 26 acres in Saddle River, NJ, the 20-bed residential hospice is like no other in the New York City metropolitan area. Every room offers a sweeping view of the bucolic grounds, which include a bountiful lawn, walking gardens and in-ground swimming pool. High ceilings, wood floors and fireplaces create an elegant, homelike ambiance throughout the sprawling estate.

Every patient resides in a private room that contains a private bath, internet, telephone and flat-screen TV. Each patient receives 24-hour nursing care and daily holistic services. Overnight accommodations for a loved one are also available, alleviating concerns about being away from the patient on their journey.

"We created the Villa to meet a need in the community for a freestanding, independent hospice. The innovative, one-of-a-kind place is a haven where people are able to accept that all of us will die but that it doesn't have to be a terrible, lonely process. You can actually find comfort and satisfaction with those you love, and make the last days of life about living."
